Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of sophie.so, operated by Sophie Nguyen (“I,” “me,” or “my”). By using the site, subscribing to the newsletter, submitting a form, or booking a call, you agree to these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract under applicable law to use this site or submit a form.

Not Tax, Legal, or Financial Advice

Content on this site — including blog posts, newsletter content, videos, and all other written or visual material — is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not tax, legal, accounting, or financial advice, and it does not create a client, attorney–client, or fiduciary relationship of any kind. Tax outcomes depend on your specific facts and jurisdiction. Always consult a qualified professional before acting on anything you read here.

I partner with Paramount Tax and Bookkeeping for tax planning engagements. Any client relationship, fees, and professional obligations are governed by the engagement letter you sign with Paramount (or with me, where applicable) — not by these Terms, and not by reading the site.

Third-Party Services

The site uses third-party services to deliver core functionality, including Beehiiv (newsletter), Resend (email), GoHighLevel (booking), and Google Analytics (analytics). When you interact with those features, the third party’s own terms and privacy policies apply alongside these Terms. I am not responsible for the acts, omissions, content, or outages of third-party services.

Intellectual Property

All content on sophie.so — including text, graphics, photographs, logos, and design — is owned by Sophie Nguyen or licensed to her. You may view and share content for personal, non-commercial purposes with appropriate credit. You may not copy, reproduce, adapt, or redistribute content in a commercial context without prior written permission.

Acceptable Use

When using the site, you agree not to:

• Scrape, copy, or systematically harvest content or data.
• Submit false or misleading information through any form (including the newsletter or booking widget).
• Attempt to bypass technical limitations or security features.
• Use the site, newsletter, or any reply from me to violate any law, harass others, or distribute malicious content.
• Use content from the site to train machine-learning or AI models without prior written permission.

Bookings and Communications

When you book a call through the booking widget or submit a form, you consent to me (and, where relevant, my partners such as Paramount Tax and Bookkeeping) contacting you at the email address or phone number you provide in connection with the conversation you requested. You can opt out of the newsletter at any time via the unsubscribe link in any issue.

No Warranty

The site and its contents are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including (but not limited to) implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. I do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will Sophie Nguyen be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits or lost data, arising out of or related to your use of the site or reliance on its content. My total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the site is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sophie Nguyen from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of your breach of these Terms, your violation of law, or your misuse of the site.

Changes to These Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. When I do, I will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Termination

I may suspend or terminate your access to the site (including the newsletter) at any time, for any reason, including if I believe you have violated these Terms.

Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the site will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
