Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Sophie Nguyen (“I,” “me,” or “my”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit sophie.so or interact with my newsletter, booking, and contact forms. It applies to this website only and not to third-party sites or services linked from it.

Information I Collect

Information you give me

• Newsletter subscribe: your email address, which is sent to Beehiiv (my newsletter provider) so they can deliver the newsletter and confirmation emails.
• Financial-services firms waitlist: your name, firm name, email address, and phone number, which are emailed to me via Resend.
• Booking a call: the booking widget on this site is hosted by GoHighLevel. Anything you enter in that calendar form (name, email, phone, and any other fields they ask for) is collected by GoHighLevel and shared with me.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, Google Analytics collects standard web analytics data: pages viewed, approximate geographic location, device and browser type, referring site, and a cookie-based identifier used to recognize returning visitors. I use this to understand which content is useful, not to identify you personally. My hosting provider (Vercel) may also log standard server request data such as IP address, timestamp, and request path.

How I Use Your Information

• To send the newsletter you subscribed to.
• To respond to inquiries and schedule calls you request.
• To understand how the site is used and improve it.
• To comply with legal obligations when required.

I do not sell your personal information. I do not share it with third parties except the service providers described below.

I rely on a small number of third-party services to run this site:

• Beehiiv — newsletter delivery and subscriber management. Their privacy policy applies.
• Resend — transactional email delivery for lead notifications. Their privacy policy applies.
• GoHighLevel — hosts the booking calendar embedded on this site. Their privacy policy applies.
• Google Analytics — web analytics by Google LLC. Their privacy policy applies.
• Vercel — hosting infrastructure. Their privacy policy applies.

Cookies and Tracking

This site uses cookies through Google Analytics to measure traffic. You can opt out by:

• Installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Enabling “Do Not Track” or a similar privacy setting in your browser.
• Blocking third-party cookies in your browser.

The site does not set any other cookies and does not use local storage to track you.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of it, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email me at sophie@sophie.so.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what categories of personal information I collect and the right to request deletion. I do not sell personal information.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. My legal basis for processing is your consent (for the newsletter and contact forms) and my legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (for analytics).

Data Retention

I keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes described here. Newsletter data is retained while you are subscribed and for a short period after you unsubscribe for recordkeeping. Lead-form submissions are retained in my inbox until I have completed the relevant conversation plus a reasonable follow-up window. You can ask me to delete your information at any time.

Children’s Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information, email me and I’ll delete it.

Security

I use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no internet transmission is ever completely secure. You use the site at your own risk.

International Visitors

I operate from the United States. If you access this site from outside the US, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the US, which may have data-protection laws different from those in your country.

Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When I do, I will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be flagged in the newsletter.
